It's the best thing I bought the last few years.

The Concept2 RowErg® sets the standard for indoor rowing machines. Built by rowers, for rowers, the RowErg is used by people of all ages and abilities worldwide who want a full-body, low-impact workout.
As engineers, we value clean, effective design. The RowErg is engineered to work smoothly, be easy to maintain, and last a lifetime. This is the same machine used by Olympic- and elite-level athletes to train for their sport—it’ll take the abuse of heavy training day after day. At the same time, it supports the training goals of everyone, whether you’re just starting out on your fitness journey, looking to start something new, or a long-time athlete.
The powerful Performance Monitor connects via Bluetooth to a wide range of apps, including our own free app ErgData. ErgData allows you to set up workouts, take part in the Concept2 Workout of the Day, track and analyze your progress and more, including rowing with other members of the community on a virtual course. This is made easier with our integrated device holder that fits everything from phones to large tablets and is easily and quickly adjustable. See the Features for more information.
The Concept2 RowErg is available with either standard or tall legs. The standard legs give a 14 inch (36 cm) seat height while the taller legs make the seat 20 inches (51 cm) from the floor. The RowErg with standard legs is the new name for the Model D Indoor Rower. The tall leg option replaces the Model E, which is now discontinued. A higher seat is not required for taller users, and both machines will fit inseams up to 38 inches (96.5 cm). Rowers with an inseam longer than this may require an extra-long monorail.
The tall legs will also be available as a separate retrofit later on this year. See the FAQs for more information.
The powerful PM5 Performance Monitor, standard with every RowErg, provides repeatable, comparable data for every workout. The PM5 offers a simple “Just Row” mode or allows you to set up a variety of workouts. The monitor shows you a wide range of data, including pace, watts, stroke rate and Calories. Using an app like ErgData, it's easy to transfer your workouts to our free Online Logbook.
One monitor, many training options! Our open-platform Performance Monitor connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet and is compatible with over 30 different apps, including our own ErgData. Whether you’re after online classes, coaching and training programs or virtual racing, there’s an app to suit you.
Now it’s easier than ever to use ErgData, or any of your other favorite apps, while rowing. Each new RowErg comes with a device holder that allows you to keep your smartphone or tablet securely in place. The device holder fits everything from small smartphones to large tablets such as the iPad Pro and is easily and quickly adjustable.
If you're looking for a more immersive training experience or a live competition or coaching option—there’s an app for that! Our PM5 is an open platform, which means you can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to a wide variety of apps, including our own ErgData and other third-party apps, that give you the training motivation and support that you want. You’re not locked into a single experience with Concept2, but you do have our commitment that your machine’s performance and your workout measurement will be reliable, no matter what other workout experience you connect. You can also connect to heart rate equipment and devices with ANT+.
Our standard RowErg has a 14” seat height, while our elevated version has taller legs that provide a 20” seat height. The elevated version is a good choice if you like the convenience and appearance of a taller machine. The increased seat height can also make it easier to get on and off.
Our RowErgs use air resistance to respond to your effort on every stroke, so you are in full control of your exertion and resistance at all times. The spiral damper allows you to easily adjust the airflow to the flywheel, so you can change the feel of the stroke to suit your preference. The flywheel design minimizes noise while maximizing a smooth feel.
The RowErg is easy to wheel around for workouts and can be quickly separated into two pieces (no tools required) for compact storage. Ideal for homes or gyms that need flexible space. The taller legs of the elevated version feature large caster wheels for easier moving.
Adjustable footrests allow for quick and easy sizing to fit a wide range of shoe sizes. We designed the ergonomic handle with a 10-degree bend that allows you to row comfortably with a natural arm and hand position.
All that is needed to assemble the RowErg is to install the front legs. We include all necessary tools and clear, illustrated instructions. Takes just 20–30 minutes. View the assembly video.
Our machines are famous for their durability. Tough and built to last, our machines withstand rigorous use in boathouses, training centers, living rooms, hotels, health clubs and military bases around the world. We make sure our machines are easy to care for so you can focus on using your investment, not maintaining it.
We include the following items with your RowErg with PM5 purchase:
The Concept2 Slide (sold separately) adds an on water feel to your RowErg and allows you to connect multiple RowErgs (Model C, D, E or current model) for team training.

The Concept2 RowErg is available with either standard or tall legs.
The RowErg with standard legs has a seat height of 14 inches/36 cm and is the same as the Model D Indoor Rower. The only difference is the new name and machine graphics.
The RowErg with tall legs has an elevated seat height of 20 inches/51 cm and replaces the Model E Indoor Rower, which is discontinued. The difference is that now, the higher seat is achieved by adding taller front and rear legs to the popular Model D design. This means the elevated and standard height RowErgs both now have the same adjustable monitor arm and graphics. The taller legs of the elevated version feature large caster wheels.
Some people prefer the additional height of the elevated version. These reasons include:
Note: The only difference between the standard and elevated version is the seat height provided by the taller legs. Everything else on the machine is the same.
The new name RowErg aligns better with our other two ergometers, the SkiErg and the BikeErg. All of our exercise machines are technically ergometers, or “ergs” for short, because they actually measure the work that you are doing.
No. Both height options of the RowErg are available only in black.
Yes, the tall legs will eventually be available as a retrofit option. This will bring it to the 20” seat height.
